Advocate Data
All data, including but not limited to personal information and supporter lists (opted-in advocates who have utilized Legisletter technology), stored by you on our platform remains exclusively yours.
Legisletter will not access, use, or share this data with any third party without your explicit consent, except as described below or as required by law.
Sharing with Legislators: When you use our platform to facilitate communication with legislators (e.g., sending letters on behalf of your advocates), we share the relevant advocate data (such as name, address, and message content) with the intended legislator. This sharing is done solely for the purpose of delivering the communication and is considered part of our core service.
Sharing with Our Clients: Clients who subscribe to Legisletter services and deploy grassroots political campaigns through our platform only receive advocate data specifically generated from their own campaigns. This includes information such as email addresses and contact information of advocates who have opted into their campaigns. This selective sharing enables clients to effectively manage and engage in advocacy efforts. Advocates are encouraged to review our clients' privacy policies to understand how their personal information may be used.
Campaign Communications Consent: When you submit a letter through our platform:
- Your information is shared with the relevant legislators to deliver your message (this is required for the service)
- Email updates from the campaign organizer are opted-in by default (you can uncheck this option)
- SMS/text message updates require explicit opt-in (unchecked by default)
- If you submit a letter but opt out of campaign communications, your contact information will only be used to send your letter to legislators and will not be used for marketing purposes
- You can unsubscribe from campaign communications at any time
Other Uses: We may also use advocate data in an anonymized and aggregated form for internal analysis and service improvement. This data will not be identifiable to any individual.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Legisletter utilizes privacy-focused analytics to track site performance and the effectiveness of our customer campaigns. These analytics are completely anonymous and do not collect personal data, use cookies, or employ persistent identifiers.
Third Party Data Services
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
Analytics and Advertising Partners: We use privacy-focused Plausible Analytics and Meta Pixel for analytics and advertising purposes. You can opt out of these services at any time using the privacy preferences controls below. When you opt out:
- Plausible Analytics will stop tracking your visits
- Meta Pixel will stop collecting data for advertising purposes
- Your preferences are stored locally and respected across all visits
